Simon Wilby is a Canadian investor and inventor that introduced a solar cell technology, which uses plastic instead of silicone. His career as an inventor officially began with a device to stay in touch with his beloved dogs back in 1991. He invented a transceiver collar so he could hear and speak to his five favorite pooches.
Since then, the British born Canadian has shifted gears from whimsical to practical with the invention of The Smart One, an aftermarket product for cellular phones. This device allows users to charge from practically any light source without compromising battery performance. In fact, it triples the talk time of a standard cellular phone once fully charged. Unlike solar devices of the past, The Smart One is designed to work discreetly with your cellular phone so you never have to worry about cables or obstructions when in use.
